Hi I was wondering if anyone knew how to add custom ringtones to IPhones with Jaws. Since the new ITunes came out, they took out the app section and ringtone section of the library. I know that apple bought ringtones can be done through sounds and haptics but I was wondering if anyone knew how to do the custom ringtones. Thanks ainadvance and have a wonderful day.

I have purchased a couple directly on the phone.
There is also an app in the app store called Ringtones, and I'm working on figuring that one out.
You load it on your phone, cync it with iTunes, and it is supposed to work.
Lots of freebies with it.
If you go to settings, then phone, and click on the tones were you change them, you'll see the downloads, and the store to buy them.
That is easy, of course, but I think the app will prove to be pretty easy too once I've taken some time to play with it.
Once you have them, they will show in your phones downloads section, or directly on the tones list.
The ones I purchased do.

You might try this one.
It says you don’t need to cync the phone with iTunes.
Ringtone Remixes - Marimba Remix Ringtones on the App Store

This is not a link, you have to copy it. Opens in ITunes, or just get it directly on the phone, the app.
Good luck.

I have had a chance to play with the Marimba and it works fine.
It is just the sound names aren't written so you can tell what they are.
The app allows me to use my music in my library too, but I have to click on apple music, so I am thinking this is because I have it
You can choose from a bunch, and when you click them, hear and buy them easy.
I prefer the tone store however. It cost, but works easy and well.
I did not have a bunch of these, or any at all, so I do wonder if you had, if these will show under the downloads section in ITunes store under more.
I have now a section that says tones now I've purchased a couple.
So, that is my experience.
Again, the app store has several apps, so try them.

You can still sync your ringtones.

I found a youtube video which shows you how to make your own custom ringtones and yes, I just tested it and it works beautifully.

Once you have your ringtone, just access your phone within itunes and find the tones directory with the sidebar.

For some reason NVDA thinks it's a treeview.

Once you've found the tones section, tab or hit f6 until you reach the listview and paste it in.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, the link.

Converting the file is a little different in iTunes 12.7, which is explained in the video.

I'll try to explain it here because he isn't easy to understand at times.

You'll need to go to file and then hit the letter T to convert, no idea why, but that's what it is.

The 20 or is it 30 second limit still aplys when making your ringtone so do try not to go over the limit.

I personally just let zedge do all that for me.

And for those who don't know, zedge is a great resource to get free, custom ringtones.

Enjoy.

Pretty slick.
I'll pass this on.
I'm not really a ringtone person, but had been asked off Zone, so went looking on how I might get some installed.

Hello to all. Another idea on what to do with the ringtone issue. Download iTunes 12.6.3. It supports the new iPhone models but it leaves in the ringtoone functionality. Here is a cool blind tech post that gives the direct link to download iTunes for your respective OS. Note: You need to remove 12.7 in order to be able to install 12.6.3

Alright kool_turk.
Badassed. Smile.
I've got 12.7 iTunes, and the latest Windows 10, or right now.
It is due to be upgraded.
I also have Jaws latest 18, and an iPhone 8.
Anyway, I grabbed me a tone from Zedge on the computer as you suggested.
I went to the tones section of my iPhone and simply pasted it in the list.
I didn't need the T to make it work.
That's my experience anyway.
Swizzel.

Hello to all. I actually prefer iTunes 12.7. You can literally cut and paste ringtones on your phone. I got this tip for you all.
1. take the m4r file you made and copy it to clipboard,
2. make sure your device is plugged into computer.
3. make sure itunes is launched and then go to your device and it will say name of device button
next, press the corresponding button and tab to device sidebar.
finally, look for the tones section and tab till you find the list of tones on device and paste file you copied to clipboard.
if you want to back up your tones copy all files found in tones section and paste them on an external drive as copies.
Note: I got that from this applevis post. https://www.applevis.com/blog/apple-itunes-news/apple-releases-itunes-127-bringing-revamp-drops-app-store-and-ringtones

I actually prefer the itunes 12.7 way. I thought I would hate it but it is very awesome. Another note for you all. Whenever you do iCloud backups, your ringtones back up as well.
